Hey everyone. Long time lurker here, keeping up with all the recent things Mother going on. I just wanted to stop by this topic and share something I did to try and help get this game in particular some of the attention it deserves:

It’s a bit weird when I look back on it and I hope to clean it up a bit after I Crosswick it (link it in the respective Trope pages), but I wanted to share this with you guys and hope you enjoy the read. (Not smug, just toasting these good people ya darn ghost!)

I’m kinda curious if something happened to this game. I was really looking forward to playing it when it was done, but things seem to have been quiet since the trailer came out.

Dang, this is really impressive! An Earthbound fangame? In it’s own engine? And with an entire cast of nonhuman protagonists? Count me in!

Not to mention, the spritework and SPC-esque soundtrack have a lot of charm, so I’ll definitely be checking this out once it’s released.

I’d like to apologize for how long it’s taken, but the game is still on track as planned – it’s actually been done and in testing/fixing for a while! I simply hit a few snags along the way, both real ones and bug-wise, but I’m really hoping to have an actual release planned fairly soon.

What is the ETA of “fairly soon”…?

Trust me, the wait it worth it. From what I’ve seen of the previous build, this one tops it tenfold.

Hopefully really soon, the hype is real. It’s like Mother year with all the cool stuff going on.

I could do some testing if need be. I’m in college, so my schedule is a little busy, but I definitely won’t be vanishing anytime soon

Haha I’d test but I don’t know if I’d accurately be able to do that at the moment with school an work and such. I wouldn’t be able to put enough focus into playing the game to find bugs.
Can’t wait to play it though, and I’ll have to get back to work on some art again soon, sorry it’s been a while since I got you anything haha.

This news is relevant to expanding more things than just the game Tasteless jokes aside, kudos to whoever’s responsible for the alternate art on the website.

I always wondered what actually giygas alien type is?..except of “ULF”!!

The actual release is Halloween.

Oh, I didn’t know this! This looks brilliant!
I have played part of CogDis (I still have that save, and I planned to continue playing soon) but now I know this, I will wait for this new version!

I am certainly going to play this after Mother 25 Anniversary Edition.

After that, I will play Earthbound once again. I hope EB Deluxe is done by the time I have beaten CogDis, so I can play an even better version of Earthbound.

And after that, Hat Quest, and last but not least, Mother 3!

Whoa, nice screenshot! I like how you’ve managed to fill up your maps with oil spots and such without making the map look too cluttered.

Also, nice job on the text. Plain and MOTHER-y. I wonder what the hammer will be used for…

Never played the original game. I’m gonna wait until Mother 4 comes out before I play this so I can get a double dose of more Mother universe. It’s gonna be awesome. This looks great, Handish. Well done.

Well, don’t Starmen always hover around when they move? I mean, they’re PSI-using aliens robots things, so with their powers they can just hover instead of walking.

Hopefully you all won’t hold a little bragging against me, but the gas station was a tileset I had fun working on one afternoon as a surprise, so it makes me happy so many people seem to like it.

As long as you’re running some form of windows, pretty much any computer from the past decade should be able to handle this game.

I don’t know if it’s my place to say any certain style is the “official” style and design of the characters. Maybe otherhand would have some input on the subject. Though obviously he liked it enough to update the site with it.

The designs on the new website layout are one interpretation of the characters. They’re “official” in a general sense of their design, but players can feel free to make their own decisions as they play through the game.

In CogDis, Starmen phase around as their main mode of transportation. With the proper outfitting, larger teleportation jumps are possible too!
