The Mysteries of Time
(WARNING: THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY TO READ THIS WITHOUT BECOMING CONFUSED. I CONFUSE MYSELF READING IT RIGHT NOW. SO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK. THIS ARTICLE WILL MAKE YOUR HEAD SPIN)
Time is a very mysterious thing. From what I've seen there are two ways of time travel:
1. Messing up the Future a. when traveling to the past, anything you do could effect the future. for example if someone were to travel back to before Lincon was shot and save his life, we would no longer learn in history that he had been assassinated and in result the world would be alot different today. b.when traveling to the future, the day you began travel would be the day you dissapeared off the face of the earth. And the world might possibly be changed due to your dissapearance. so there is no way you can travel to the future without altering it.
2. Alternate Dimensions a. when traveling to the past, anything you do would not affect your time. If you were to go to the past and save lincon your time would not be changed, for Lincon dying was fate and so it would only turn that era into a different dimension. To put more clearly if dimensions existed (like on "sliders") then there would be a trillion of them. There would be a dimension when Lincon was saved, when he was never born, and when the confederetes won the civil war. All dimesions would have end results of their own, and the only way to experience what you've changed is to live out the era. b. when traveling to the future, life would be like you had existed and everything will be as if would be if you hadn't of traveled to the future and you can even meet your future self if possible.
Getting more to the relevance to Earthbound, my disscusion will be about the possibility of Ness or Giygas traveling past and saving/destroying the earth.
The Phase Distorter was finished. The Destined four were informed that Giygas was attacking the past and the only way to defeat him would be to travel back, and defeat him in a different time. Lets pause right here. Giygas had traveled to the past and his actions would had already taken affect seeing as how Ness was in the present. So that means the world would have already been destroyed UNLESS... unless it was fate that Ness, Paula, Jeff, and Poo traveled to the past and saved the world and Giygas's defeat could not be avoided. OR... the actions that Giygas made would result in an alternate dimension. BUT... when Ness traveled to the area where Giygas was attacking from, the whrecked Phase Distorter remained. Proving it was fate and it could not have been an alternate dimension scenario.
Oh man, glad thats resolved. My head hurts... Any way, It was in the middle of the final battle... Giygas was gaining victory as Jeff and Poo collapsed. Ness and Paula remained. Paula prayed with all her heart and the people of Earth responded with their love. Pause. I don't really know about this... when the people of earth had prayed, they prayed for the safetey of Ness and his friends, Paula and her friends, Jeff and his friends, and Poo and his friends. Unless prayer can travel to the past and future Ness and his friends would be helpless. I really don't know if it can... right now I can't pray for the safety of Abe Lincon. Something to think about...
Ness's Mom, Tracy and King prayed for the safety of Ness and his friends. The power of their love was too strong for pure evil... The strength of the love conquered and Giygas was incinerated. However, Giygas's Defeat lead to the destruction of the warriors bodies. Their spirits left the ruined machines and returned to their bodies. Stop. Could Ness and the rest really travel back to the future and live again? Maybe... The desire to live again might lead to the ability to travel back. Or maybe, their spirits lived the era and others until their time came, in that form they could definently never age. This will never be resolved. But somehow the 4 lived again and lived their lives in peace, never to be threatened by evil again.
That leaves to the conclusion of all of this. Its been long but I'm sure you all learned something today. Looking at my insesant rambling I'm sure you didn't. Judge for yourself. I will always wonder, but you can decide if Ness could or couldn't save the world.
