The First Analysis: Too Much Freedom?
This is my first Article, heck, first major thing for the site period, although I have been an unknown regular visitor to SM.net for a couple of years. This is a very intersesting game that just may have too many (you guessed it) loopholes. I read an article or post on the message board the other day and it said that you could skip entire boss battles, like Everdred (who isn't that hard anyway) and even the Mondo Mole until you got to Carbon Dog/ Diamond Dog (who I have never faced. I got to BARF and quit for some reason). Also, I just found a loophole, yet possibly got messed up in my game. I just beat Moonside and got Paula back. I had taken all of her equipment and put it on Ness because she had a Platinum Band and some good Charm. I meant to go back to the Dept. Store in Fourside to get her some equipment, but forgot. So, I ended up having to go to Threed to retrieve the Sky Runner, go to Winters, and fight Shrooom! I wanted to skip him for the moment and go to the drugstore with the T-Rex bat, etc., and then go back to fight the humongously evil mushroom. I never made it that far. I erased that iron pencil so I wouldn't have to go through Brick Road, and started moving again. Suddenly, diamonds started coming at me. I wondered what they were and attacked them. I saw, to my horror, a Lesser Mook, a Spinning Robot, and a Wooly Shambler. Whoa! I don't think I was supposed to fight these guys until I got to Stonehenge and the Deep Darkness. Oh, I forgot to mention something: Ness was the only one alive. So, heading toward imminent defeat, I attacked with PSI Web (Rockin) Beta. Somehow, it actually did some good and I thought (foolishly) that I had a shot. I tried Lifeup, but the stupid Mook did Freeze Beta and killed me. So I, although figuring I was out of luck, summoned all of my courage and tried again. I was in Dr. Andonuts' lab in Winters. Then I thought of something: Teleporting to Fourside. I didn't think I had enough room, but I did. I bought Paula stuff and stupidly teleported to Winters. I was afraid that I wouldn't get to the Lab. I was right. I was on the other side of the lake, at the drugstore. I called Escargo Express and told them to deliver my Pak of Bubble Gum. I took off toward Lake Tess, but didn't make it again. Ness and Jeff BOTH got diamondized, so Paula was left, then she died too. I started over again and miraculously was back in Fourside at the Dept. Store. I decided not to go back to Winters for a while. I instead went to Saturn Valley, just because I used to level up there a lot in my old game. Believe it or not, those Plain Crocodiles and Armored Frogs give off almost as much Exp. as those guys from Stonehenge. I leveled up about 10 times today (Sunday) and got really powerful. I now have Gamma/Sigma level everything, like Fire, Freeze, Lifeup, and Rockin. Ness is almost at level 50, Paula at 44 and Jeff at 42.
That's another thing. As I said, I just got Paula back but doesn't it seem that Jeff needs more Exp. to get to the next level? What's up with that? I mean, Paula was at level 36 when I got her back, and Jeff was at 38. Now Paula is at a higher level than Jeff, yet he's died less. Maybe it has something to do with his, uh, geniusosity/brilliance.Oh well. Since Ness has 423 HP now, maybe I'll go kick some robot booty. However, when I get to the shore, I hope Tessie takes me across. I was beating them with everyone alive, until the Mook started Diamondizing me. Wish I could sell Jeff... but I guess I don't have to. I've got $70,000 in the bank now. I suppose I'll sign off now... Give me some feedback, maybe I'll write again... This is The Analyzer, uh... signing off.
