Sentry Robot sprite Anyone remember this ancient Starmen.net audio CD?

sprite oldguy94

So I’m an old Starmen.net user. I used to be Sentry Robot on the forums 20+ years ago, but I have no idea on my login. Anyways….

I found this audio CD in my garage the other day and I know it came from this website, but I don’t recall why I received it. I believe I received it due to collecting signatures for the Mother 3 petition and it was sent with some other stuff as a thank you. But, that doesn’t make sense why it would be labeled “Earthbound Zero Unofficial Soundtrack”. I thought it might be one of the rock candy albums, but I can’t find any of these songs under the Rock Candy album documentation.

Anyways, maybe this is the last copy in existence. I copied it to YouTube to live forever, titled “Earthbound 0 Unofficial Soundtrack – Starmen.net release”

It would be interesting if anyone is still around that remembers or maybe even produced these songs. If anyone wants the orchestrated songs that are not copyrighted, I’ve uploaded them to the locations below. Unfortunately, the CD was badly damaged over the years and the quality is not what it could be. Maybe someone can clean it up.

Earthbound Zero – 12 – The Fourside Orchestra
Earthbound Zero – 15 – Onett Orchestral

Earthbound Zero Unofficial Soundtrack

Earthbound Zero – 01 – Pollyanna
Earthbound Zero – 02 – Being Friends
Earthbound Zero – 03 – Paradise Line
Earthbound Zero – 04 – Magicant
Earthbound Zero – 05 – Wisdom of the World
Earthbound Zero – 06 – Flying Man
Earthbound Zero – 07 – Snow Man
Earthbound Zero – 08 – All That I Needed Was You
Earthbound Zero – 09 – Fallin Love
Earthbound Zero – 10 – Eight Melodies
Earthbound Zero – 11 – The World of Mother
Earthbound Zero – 12 – The Fourside Orchestra
Earthbound Zero – 13 – Mother Mary Mura
Earthbound Zero – 14 – Eagleland’s Polyanna
Earthbound Zero – 15 – Onett Orchestral
Earthbound Zero – 16 – Battling Sentou’s Piano
Earthbound Zero – 17 – Eagleland’s Onett

Edit: So, I’ve discovered that this CD may have been a reproduction of the official Mother 1 soundtrack, but with additional songs? The songs on the original CD all have metadata from 12/31/1994, which throws me off a little, as Mother 1 was 1989, and the Mother 2 OST was 1994.

That’s super cool! It looks like the first 11 songs are indeed the official Mother 1 soundtrack, but the ones that come after are other Earthbound-related goodies— a few remixes from Super Smash Bros Melee, a few unused/previewed songs from EB64/Mother 3, and two really lovely orchestrated tracks that I don’t know where they’re from. The good news is that the official Mother 1 soundtrack is available on Youtube, as are the Melee songs (here and here) and the EB64 songs (here and here).

I do need to put on my stern admin hat for a sec since technically these are pirated songs, so we can’t exactly leave them on the forums for folks to download hahaha. On the other hand, I am interested in seeing if anyone in the community can identify the two orchestrated tracks so we can credit them properly. If you’d be willing to take down your current Youtube/download links and replace them with individual links to the two orchestrated tracks, I’d appreciate it.

That track list and CD picture are an absolute historical treasure for this community, so I’d like to thank you for sharing this piece of community history with us.
