Mother 4, a fangame, has been in development for a long time, but haven’t seen any updates recently. Is the project abandoned? Cancelled? Stuck?

There was an update a few weeks ago and they said they’re still working on it. But all they showed was an incomplete animation for Meryl.

The game is still in progress and the dev team is still working on it. The rebranding process is a necessity for the dev team in order to make the project less of n under the table deal and more of a project that is open to the public. They are most certainly not giving up on the project and are working steadily.

I have contact with one of the devs, a guy named Pik, who says that they are working steadily, but there’s still a noticeable amount of work needed to be done. There’s no clear estimate on when the game is going to be released, because the devs are being relatively quiet due to the whole rebrand process. My guess is that they will release the new rebrand trailer, website, and title some time in the next six months or so, and the game may come in about a year or two. But there is no clear way to say exactly what is going to happen. But I’m positive that the game WILL be released someday.

I actually don’t know. You can privately DM the project leader, Pastel, on his twitter and ask if they could use the assistance. But I don’t know at all how they might react to that.
