Hello Starmen! I have decided to attempt to make a Mother/Earthbound style mmorpg. I’ve been a fan of the series for so long and I’ve always wanted to be able to make my own character and have my own adventure in a Mother type world.

The project name right now is Saturn Valley oRPG as a homage to the old vb6 mmo called Saturn Valley Online.

Now the project is in a very early stage and I’m looking for help with some decision making.

Hey there, this is a neat project to see being revived, and it’ll be really cool to see it come to life. That said though, generally we like to have projects that already have a bit of substantial work on them so that this board isn’t just full of prospectus posts.

I know it’s early and you’re asking for input so I’m gonna leave your thread here open, don’t worry, but do you have any other info or screenshots you could share? And I’d love to see some updates and progress when you get the chance!

Dang… I was programming one of these myself, and I already have hundreds of lines of JS to make it work!! It was even inspired by Saturn Valley Online, too! (Though, I wasn’t around the fandom at the time it was made. I was like 6 or something, idk when it existed.)

Though… I’d like to know some stuff about yours (I promise I won’t steal it!! I just want to see if I could maybe help you, or if you could help me…)

Oh, also, I do actually know a little bit of websockets (and I’m learning more whenever I have the time) which are super useful for multiplayer stuff. Also, will you have more earthbound stuff in it too? Or just Mother 3? Also, what programming language or engine? Man, so many questions… XP
