Just looked at the video, and I have to say: not bad! The only thing that I would personally change is the Mother 1+2 commercial remake in the intro. What I would do is use that as the teaser for your project, but it’s really all up to you. Good luck with the project! Also, are you planing on actually porting Mother 1, 2 and 3 to the Wii or are you just going to emulate the games through already existing homebrew?

I’d make the pauses between each image smaller, the commercial goes by much quicker than your intro. It’s not like your intro is not fast enough, but it’s too slow, get it? :s

Well, one does not need the source of the games to make a compilation of these kinds (mainly because all three games are written in system-specific assembly and one wouldn’t be able to simply plaster them together in a single program), but what people usually expect with a “port” is a rewriting of the game into the compilation.

It is very time consuming, anyone would agree (there was someone here that started working on Earthbound Zero, Tomato I think, but the project was eventually abandoned). I only fear for you that, because you’re making a Wii homebrew, there are implications with using it to distribute game ROMs – mainly of Earthbound, that has recently gone up for sale on the Wii U -, and it’s essentially what you’re doing. This was the principal reason why your last topic was locked.

It reminds me Wii "injury"ports like EarthBound,Sonic 2 Complete.Good job anyway.

Hello everybody!
I’m working now on the Mother 1+2+3 game selection menu and I want to share the menu progress!
I’ve uploaded a pic from the menu on this post.

The main idea of the menu is reproduce one of the main elements of Mother games, in this case, the battle.
To select a game, basically you have to kill the respective monster (actually you just have to attack it once to play the game). If do you want to play mother 3 just attack the mother 3 monster, the same idea to play mother 1+2. I’ve also added a Auto Battle function, that randomly choose a monster to attack (and a game to play), credits and game info. What you guys think about the monsters design, the main menu concept? Please share your impressions about it!

Final Game Info Update!

When I saw this I was blown away, but while the GameSelect/Battle screen is very creative….its a bit overkill don’t you think? I mean you going to a game select screen to go to another game select screen, I feel like you really should have gone with the original releases instead of the GBA version

I’ve never gotten to play mother 1 but the main character is from Podunk? Isn’t that where the main character of secret of evermore is located at the start of the game too?

That’s what I originally thought too, but it’s a different town with the same name. Probably for similar reasons, since podunk is not just a random word someone came up with, it’s an adjective meaning dull or insignificant.

I’m speechless – this is amazing and you’re amazing, too, for doing this! Just saw the video on EBC and I can’t tell you how excited I am. Good job!

You will choose which version u gonna play in the game. It will be chosen on the game setup for windows. In instance, u can play mother 3 in chinese, mother in portuguese and mother 2 in english if u want.

So just to be clear, assuming we use the translations tomato made, we will have mother 1 in English, mother 2 in Japanese, and mother 3 in English. I wish i could get mother 2 in English. Is there anyway in the future you can just have it port to earthbound on snes instead of mother 2, or maybe make 3 enemies on that screen? Like have a famicom cartridge, and super famicom cartridge, then mother 3? Earthbound could still be mother 2, as I remember a earthbound hack that replaced the title screen with mother 2.

LeadHound – Thanks for ur comment! That is EXACTLY what I’m doing right now on the game. I’ve finished the mother 2 cartridge monster and maybe today I’ll update the game thread with it. I’ve finished the ‘port’ of Earthbound zero and Earthbound already. U can use the english or Japanese version of the game. It’s up to you. I highly recommend using Earthbound Zero (nes game with Title screen hack) , Earthbound (snes game with title screen hack) and tomato Mother 3. No Mother 1+2 on the game. It’s up to you which rom u going to use. Today I’ll add new game info! Thanks!!!

Im relieved. It wouldnt feel like a full project if only 2/3rds of it could be in English. This should be a great thing to play as I get back into wiibrew.
